Dali China

Dali, located on a fertile plateau between the Cangshan mountains to the west and Erhai Lake to the east. It has traditionally been inhabited by Bai and Yi minority. It is known as a “state of Literature” has a long history and splendid culture. Major attractions below are a must visit when you go on Dali travel.

Dali Old Town

It was built in the Ming Dynasty. It is laid out like a chess-board, and parts of the city wall are well preserved. Residences were built in the style of the Bai ethnic group, featuring gray-tiled gabled roof, a screen all facing the gate of the house, and a square courtyard.

Dali Movie Town

The movie town built in Dali for the shooting of a Chinese classic action movie “Tian Long Ba Bu” has been classified as the provincial tourist destination of Dali. For filming purposes, the construction of the movie town includes the city gates, palaces, imperial courts, Liao Castle, etc.

Mt Cangshan

Cangshan Mountain, 2km west of Dali, comprises 19 peaks with 18 rivulets. It is best noted for its snow, clouds, rivulets and peaks regarded as the four great wonders of Cangshan Mountain. Stretching some 50km from south to north, the mountain is fully covered by woods, enveloped in drifting clouds and hung with springs on its steep cliff sides. The top of the peaks, the highest being 4122m above sea level, is clad in show all year round.

Erhai Lake

Erhai Lake is similar in form of an ear. 2km east of Dali, it is a fresh water lake, and in the middle of it, there are islets and sandbars. Covering 250 square km, the blue, ripping lake and the snow-covered Cangshan Mountain add radiance and beauty to each other. The scene is therefore described as “Silver Changshan and Jade Erhai”

Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple

The tree multi-eaved pagodas included Qianxun Pagoda, the main one and 2 smaller one to its north and south. These 3 pagodas represent ancient architectural art and culture of the Bai ethnic group.
