Day 01 Arrive at Chengdu

At Chengdu, you can just have a walk around the famous Jingdi shopping street.

Day 02 Chengdu to Lhasa

Upon arrival to Lhasa, check it to your hotel for rest. You can consider to visit Potala Palace, the political and religious center of old Tibetan governor (the potala is nowadays the highest, biggest scale, palace style construction and also the biggest Tibetan Museum.

Day 03 Lhasa

Pay a visit to the Central Lamaism Temple – Johkang Monastery in which there is 12 year old Sakyamuni life size golden statue brought by Princess Wencheng more than 1000 years ago. Outside the Jokhang Monastery, there is the very famous scripture jand over street, where you can find the pilgrims from all over the world. Along the street are full of stores and shops. At night, you must taste the Tibet style food.

Day 04 Lhasa to Shigatse

This morning, visit Nobulingka, meaning the Treasure Park. It was first built in the 1740s. As a result of continuous expansion by Dalai Lamas, it covers an area of 40 hectares. After that, you can proceed to Shigatse by coach. Upon arrival, visit Yamdrok Lake. It is one of three holy lakes, the others being Namtso and Mampang Yumco. It is the largest inland lake at the northen foot of the Himalayas. Yamdrok means upper pastureland.

Day 05 Shigatse to Lhasa

Before heading back to Lhasa, visit the Tashilhungpo Monastery, a residence of Panchen Lama The monastery occupies 150 000 square meters. Facing south, the complex is built symmetrically against the Nyima Mountain.

Day 06 Lhasa to Xining

After breakfast, proceed to Xining by train. Qinghai – Tibet Railways from Kekexili off and Guo, visitors can appreciate the kekexili unique wildlife resources. You will also cross Yangtze River origin. Fill in the Tuotuohe and grassland glaciers on the roof of Tanghla mountain. It is the highest along Qinghai, Tibet line. From the train, you get to the maximum altitude of 5072 meters at Tanghla mountain as fast as roller coaster. Then, after a relatively smooth terrain becomes the Highland Pastures. Take in the breathtaking scenery.

Day 07 Xining to Chengdu

Upon arrival to Xining, visit to Dongguangqing Temple which is build in 1380. It is the biggest temple in Qinghai. After dinner, you can take a flight back to Chengdu.

Day 08 Depart from Chengdu

If your flight is later in the afternoon, you can still visit Wangjiang Park before departing for home.
