St Lucia Beaches and Nightlife

St Lucia’s best white beaches stretch northwards from where the island-hopping planes take off at Vigie Airport, just outside Castries. Lined with hotels and all-inclusive resorts reminiscent of pearls on a necklace, the calm blues and greens of the Caribbean Sea are splattered with the white sails of yatchs as if painted from a paintbrush.

Rodney Bay

Sleek catamarans and luxurious windjammers lie in the new 1000 berth marina tucked way behind Rodney Bay. Rodney Bay was once a naval base built to protect the Panama Canal.

Reduit Beach

Close by to Rodney Bay is Reduit Beach where young people dressed rasta-style hawk their wares between the sunbeds. At sunset, the sound of reggae and steel bands begins, inviting everyone back for the Manager’s Cocktail at the hotel pool.

Gros Islet

What about nightlife in St Lucia. At Gros Islet, party start at every Friday night. Anyone can come and the smell of grilled chicken fills the streets together with the thump from mobile discos. Everyone loves a party on St Lucia!

Pigeon Island National Park

Connected to the “mainland” by a causeway near Gros Islet is the Pigeon Island National Park with inviting beaches and a well-tended network of tootpaths.

Pointe du Cap

You can also see the northernmost Pointe du Cap where gentle waters of the Caribbean meet the wild currents of the Atlantic.
