Jersey Holidays – Beaches

St Brelade’s Bay

South-West tip: very popular family beach, with cafes and restaurants, tents and windbreakers for hire. Pay car parks nearby. Noisy, fun, and frantic, good for a quick dip. Sir Winston Churchill

Memorial park just behind the beach is less crowded.

St Ouen’s Bay

West coast: known as the 5-mile sweep, it extends almost the whole length of the west coast. On an islet in the middle of the bay stands La Rocco tower, while all around are vast dunes and mounds. Too huge to get crowded, the bay is safe for strong swimmers only. Atlantic waves roll in to make this a surfer’s paradise; national and international surfing competitions are held here.

Rozel Bay

North-East tip: rocky beach backed by wooded hills next to charming Rozel village, all cottages with leaded windows and red fishing huts. Limited parking, can get crowded. Good for a stroll and a drink after dinner.
