Day 01 Arrive at Urumqi via Chengdu
Upon arrival at Chengdu, take domestic flight to Urumqi.
Day 02 Urumqi
Fascinating attractions that you will want to visit are Tianshan Tianchi Lake, Nanshan Pasture. Then, you cannot miss shopping at Bazaar Market and visit the Wu-Yi Night Market.
Day 03 Urumqi to Turpan
Morning, visit The Karez Irrigation System. It is distributed mainly in Turpan and is a typical local irrigation system. Move on to The Grape Valley to taste their flavors and enjoy the local minority. The Ruins of Jiaohe City – a key historical and cultural site under state protection. Emin Minerate – a construction of this religious tower and mosque complex began in 1777.
Day 04 Turpan to Dunhuang
Visit Bezekelik Buddha Caves where there are some of the famonus grottoes in Xinjiang such as the Tomb of Astana and Flaming Mountain. Then, you can depart for Dunhuang with overnight train.
Day 05 Dunhuang
Morning arrive Dunhuag, visit Mingsha Dunes and Crescent Moon Spring feature the rare side by side co-existence of quick sand and spring in a natural environment. Mogao Grottoes – the world famous historical and cultural site. It houses 45000 sq meter of color murals and over 2000 painted sculptures created during the 4th century. At night, you can pay a visit to Shazhou Market.
Day 06 Dunhuang to Jiayuguan to Lanzhou
In the morning, depart to Jiayuguan to visit Jiayuguan Pass where it is the western end of the Great Wall of China. Later on, you can depart to the capital of Gansu Province – Lanzhou by overnight train.
Day 07 Lanzhou
Morning arrive at Lanzhou, visit White Pagoda Park, The Mother Sculpture of Yellow River and Water Wheel Park.
Day 08 Lanzhou to Xian
After breakfast, depart to Xian, which was also called Chang An in ancient China. Highlight sightseeing are Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses – the Eight Wonder of the World. It is the unearthed of thousands of warriors and horses from the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang. After that, you can also visit Huaqing Pool, it has been a famous hot spring since ancient times. At night, you can even enjoy the famous Tang Dynasty Show.
Day 09 Depart from Xian
Before depart home from Xian, you may want to pay a visit to Drum Tower Square and Huimin Street.
