Question: When is the best time to buy Air Fare tickets for March? I’m planning a trip out to Austin, TX for a Music Conference that goes from March 15th to March 21st. I’m planning to arrive there on March 14th & plan to leave (or get back here to NYC) on March 21st (I’m not planning to go to the last event of the conference.). I’ve checked Priceline, Travelocity, etc. Most of them have expensive prices like $ 689 round trip on either Priceline or Travelocity (I don’t remember which one.). As a pilot, all I ever heard on flights was how terrible the service was, how lazy/grumpy/tired flight attendants were, and how air travel quality, in general, has taken a literal nose dive. If I had a nickel for every time I’ve heard a passenger complain, “Air travel isn’t what it used to be! It used to be an elegant way to travel.
