Zhongdian Travel

Zhongdian or Shangri-La is the capital of Deqen Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, is a very important center of Tibetan religion, culture and art.

Bitahai Nature Reseve

The Bitahai Nature Reserve located 24km east of Zhongdian. In the nature reserve the plants flourish and the lake water is clear. There are dense forests of pines and oaks roamed by more than 20 species of rare animals.

Napahai Nature Reserve

It is located at an altitude of 3260m above sea level, 8km northwest of Zhongdian. It has the largest grassland in Zhongdian, surrounded by mountains of 3 sides. The nature serve has a humid climate, flourishing grass and beautiful scenery. Each year from September to March black-necked cranes, a top-grade protected bird species, were seen in the vicinity.

Songzanlin Lamasery

The most important lamasery of Tibetan Buddishm in Yunnan Province, built in the 17th century by the 5th Dalai Lama, and home to 700 monks.

The First Bend of Yangtze River

The Yangtze River rolls down to the nearby Shigu Town and makes a V-turn to flow towards northeast. People call this section on “first bend of Yangtze River”.

Tiger Leaping Gorge

Tiger Leaping gorge (Hutiao Gorge) on the Jinsha River, is one of the world’s four great gorges. It is honored as one of the deepest and most marvelous gorges on the earth.
