With Maui it doesn’t matter the temp is always between 70 and 80 year round so I would just get something that works with your schedule. I used to live on Oahu and I found that when family and friends came to the Island they always purchase tickets and hotels on www.ytbtravel.com/gordonsa they said its the cheaps and most customer friendly site around.

Good Luck and have fun.

Question: Where can I find cheap airfare from Miami to Maui?
I’ve tried every website possible and I can’t seem to find an economical one way ticket to Maui. Maybe it’s because i’m leaving in the first few days of January?

Check local fairs, go on expedia, travelocity, priceline, and type in what you want. Those are the most popular on-line sites, and they work pretty good, I use them when I need to visit my sister. I just have all three windows open and compare. If you have an idea of what time and date you want to go, talk to a travel agent, they can probably get you on stand by, it is cheaper but it is not guaranteed on when you get on. It is not always fun but it just can be cheaper. If you are in a small city trying to get there, you might want to consider driving to a larger airport, it is cheaper as well. May God bless you in your travels!

I take a lot of flights and have learned that if you are only looking to book a flight your best bet is to go to Travelocity and Expedia to find the cheapest airlines. Once you locate the cheapest airline go to their site to purchase the tickets. You can save anywhere from five dollars to one hundred and twenty dollars. Typically five is all you will save, but I have saved up to $ 120 by buying through the airlines. Sometimes airlines offer discounts through their site only and Travelocity and such sites just but the ticket from the airline then mark it up $ 5 typically.

The cheapest time to go to the islands is around March. It’s the “slow” season. All that means is that is when less tourists go there. The season there is always great. As a matter of fact, the Winter season there (they only have two season) is the best for surfing…if you can handle it.

The cheapest way I have found to fly to the islands is to check with Expedia and find the lowest fare to Honolulu and then go directly to the website of the airline with the lowest price. Then go to Hawaiian or Aloha airlines and book a flight to a particular island and back from Honolulu. The prices for traveling between islands will vary from $ 19 one way to $ 39, much lower than including those trips with major carriers. Cheapest days of the week to travel are Mon. Tue. and Wed. usually, but take some time and check every day you can travel.

Check out VRBO.com for a place to stay at greatly reduced rates from owners of condos, timeshares, houses etc.

Breezenet will get you the lowest prices for car rentals, once you find the cheapest price go directly to the website of the provider with the lowest price and book the smallest car you can, you will usually be upgraded with no additional cost because the smaller the car the quicker is goes and if you are arriving in the evening they will more than likely be gone. If they aren’t upgrade when you get there, just be sure to ask to be upgraded for free first.

Anywhere you stay always ask for an upgrade when you arrive, it doesn’t hurt to ask and you will be surprised how easy it is to get.

United has a direct flight from O’hare to Maui on a 777. Flight 3 I believe. Took it two months ago.

This April was slow enough that the hotels started offering deals (4th night free). Airfare from the West Coast remains below $ 500. Next April may be the same.

As other have said use Expedia, Orbitz and similar sites to get comparison pricing.

We went to Maui last year. April is part of the lower season. United and American airlines both offer nonstop flights to Maui. You’ll have to connect on the way home either through Kona or Honolulu.

    travelocity.com, yahoo travel
priceline.com will let you put in a price and see if someone will sell you a ticket for that.
the best fare I can find for the first week of Jan is 889.00 whick is not too bad, I have to pay 400 from Ms to NY.
if fuel prices drop, they may get cheaper, you might want to wait
